~ afternoon tea – luv cravings ~

About a month back my friend took me to a new place for afternoon tea. I was excited and surprised that this place turned out to be so edgy, modern and fun! It was also fairly relaxing as there is a separate section for afternoon tea in the back.
We went to Luv Cravings, right by King Edward Skytrain station so it was close to transportation though there is plenty of street parking. When you first walk in there is a nice and spacious seating area on the right with the baked goods on the left. In the back is the reserved section for afternoon tea. Their tea service is by reservations only.
I really liked the girly but vibrant interior design.

This was our selection of teas, there was a huge variety! We had loads of fun smelling all of them =P

My friend chose the rose tea while I decided to be safe and stuck with a Versailles lavender early grey. Both were really good.

Our tier!
I got the signature afternoon tea while my friend had the petite tea, they put both onto the same tier.

The finger sandwiches
From what I remember most of these were delicious and I was pleasantly surprised! Usually the sandwiches don’t blow me away but these ones did! I was really happy! My friend and I received the same amount of sandwiches but the ones in the middle came with my tea set.

Scones and tarts
There was Earl Grey and cheese scone. O M G. The scones were absolutely heavenly! The perfect size, not too large nor small, not too dry, just delicious! I would come back just for these! I believe the spinach quiche was dry though tasty.

The sweets
Since the tea had gone well so far we had high expectations for the sweets which looked aesthetically pleasing. However this is where we were disappointed! The red velvet cupcake was dry and to me, tasteless. The icing was too sweet, but my main point is it really didn’t taste like anything, though it did have the texture of a cupcake. My friend thought the icing was much too sweet.
The chocolate dipped strawberry was fine, the tiramisu was not bad as well. It had some alcohol in it so my friend finished it for me. The carrot cake really took the spotlight, it was super moist and flavorful but much too sweet.

After our meal we received these cute scratch cards! I thought these were really thoughtful and sweet of the owners and shows they appreciate your business.
All in all I have high hopes for Luv Cravings, I really wish them the best. The food was great, service was attentive and the place is lovely. I’m a little worried because it is a bit off the ways from other areas but you never know =) If you’re ever in the area you might want to pop by a grab a cup of tea =)

~ disney world 2013 – hollywood studios ~

Hollywood Studios was a park that never truly impressed me though it’s a great place for photo opts! It also got pretty sunny on the day we went and one of my favorite rides is located in this park, The Tower of Terror!
The new area of Pixar! They even had the little green soldiers from Toy Story walking around here, of course they weren’t little.

Oh the clouds! However they did let up!

Coca-Cola! I actually love coke but I try not to drink it too much since it’s not good for you at all! The tall isolated coke bottle on the right sprayed out mist.

This is a show featuring puppets, it’s played in the dark and there is heavy use of strobe lights with black lights. During the show the person beside me kept using his cell phone on full brightness! At first I thought he was just finishing some stuff up and would stop when the show started but he didn’t. In fact I gave him a good 10min window to shut his phone off, it was distracting to everyone! Eventually I had to tell him it was very distracting and he finally turned it off -.-

When my sister asked me what type of ride this was I told her it was a simple ride where you basically go up and down. She heard the up part but not the down park so when we were falling she was truly surprised and scared LOL
We didn’t have reservations this morning and decided to wait for this place to open.

I’ve been busy with school and life recently so will be slow with blogging. As some of you may know I’m having a bit of blogging blues for a while now and they don’t seem to want to go away! Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far, I’m really enjoying mines. The weather here has been fantastic!

~ seattle – woodland park zoo 2013 ~

You’ve probably noticed the change in my layout, I hope. Truth be told I was tired of my layout for a while now but never had the guts to actually change it because I wouldn’t know how to make it look the way it did. lol Luckily everything turned out well. I know lots of bloggers have been going for the minimalist look recently but personally, I just felt that my older blog post was too cluttered, no longer reflect myself and how I wanted to portray my blog. I feel that my new layout is a tad bare but for now it will suffice =)
Anywho, recently the bf and I took a day trip down to Seattle, mainly to visit the Woodland Park Zoo. We actually wanted to go the previous year but never actually made it because we missed the turn into the zoo, the sign is small! So keep your eyes peeled for a small brown sign with “zoo” on it.
And of course I managed to forget to take a photo of the entrance, guess we got too excited lol
The first -awkward- photo of the day.
Cute sea otters, I loved it when they swam upside down like this.

Moose? No….Caribou?….can’t remember but it was huge!!!

I actually like the way these blurry shots came out…

…though I can also see how they’d make you dizzy.

The white wolf, they were actually pretty close.

I never knew kangaroos ate grass

In the small bird feeding area! You can buy a stick with some bird feed on the end of it and feed the birds inside!

At first I thought the birds were going to be aggressive but they were actually the opposite and some were too lazy to jump onto the stick, they just stretched their neck as far as it’d go!

I got taken advantage by this birdie! Look at him munching on the large piece of feed he snatched off my stick!!!

Finally got some “interaction” lol There is no touching allowed though =P

TEE HEE HEE – I was actually very happy and surprised with all these “interactions” the zoo provided (at extra costs of course)

The snow leopard that was very popular with the visitors.

When we got to this exhibit I told the bf I think this is the Gila monster and is venomous, the bf didn’t agree. I ended up being correct since we read the info afterwards lol
I don’t know why but I read that fact in the biology textbook in high school and for some odd strange reason it always stuck with me, this happens with other random stuff too. I’m sure it happens to other people too but it’s strange isn’t it???

I thought this snake looked pretty =)
There was actually a very nice and decent amount of reptiles, one of my favorite parts of zoos. In fact this reminds me of a conversation I had with the bf recently:
me: hey,can we have a pet in the future
bf: maybe
me: lets get a lizard, I always wanted one
bf: I hate lizards
me: well that was quick

I guess this guy was cleaning out the snakes droppings, at first I wondered if he would be scared of the snake but I figured that the poor thing is probably more scared!
Have you ever wondered why the snake exhibits are so small? I’ve always wondered that but apparently it’s because a larger tank or terrarium can be stressful for them.

I think this was the dwarf crocodile, he looked quite cute actually….

The legless lizard!!!! This lizard was soooo wierd, he even yawned, he was a wonder to the bf and I. Doesn’t it look like a breed between lizard, snake and earthworm?

I was really excited when I saw this snake because it was moving!
In fact most of the animals were fairly active, I’m not sure if it’s because we went quite early, actually right when the park opened but it was nice to not always see the animals taking a nap.

I wanna hippopotamus for Christmas~

The zoo recently had some lion cubs!

Komodo dragon!!! I wonder if it’s neck hurt being in that angle though I assume it didn’t…

The food!…at the park was expensive and not very good =( My salad was alright but the piece of salmon was super dry!

The main reason why I wanted to go the zoo, to do the feedings!!!

This elephants name is Bamboo and her favorite snacks are melons like cantaloupe, watermelon etc. I asked since questions were encouraged, she was so sweet and gentle too~
If you’re planning to do the feeds try and get there early as a line up formed quite quickly, however the bird feeding seemed to be an exception.

I was so excited to eat these cartoon popsicles since I haven’t had one in ages and leave it to the bf to NOT let me know it was backwards lol

This goat looked so scary…

Baa baa black sheep have you any wool~…yes i know these sheeps are white.

Giraffe feeding! One of the giraffes were pregnant and according to her keeper it’s the reason why they don’t advertise giraffe feeding currently. They still run the feeding but if she’s not in the mood then they cancel it, makes sense to me!

The giraffes were also very gentle~ There were a few times where the giraffes lost interest in out puny leaves and went across to where the nice big leafy trees were haha

So sweet~

~ iphone photos – june 2013 ~

June was over in a flash! It started off quick relaxed but soon sped up at the end of the month since I had a proposal due lol Now it’s calmed down a bit but I have a poster project, I haven’t done those in forever! I even had to go out to buy construction paper and a glue stick -.- Anyways I hope everyone had a good June!
Gorgeous views of Vancouver

I feel like this small part looks like something out of Europe!

Strawberry and banana smoothie my sissy made me! It was pretty delicious but maybe a little less honey next time lol
I actually do call my sister sissy in real life but not in a mean way, in fact she loves the nicknames I have for her LOL

My happy happy doggy~

Had afternoon tea here at the suggestion of a friend (also afternoon tea lover) hopefully I can blog about this soon!

I’ve been frequenting a small cafe in my neighborhood recently and they do latte art!

Some not very good cabonara =S Tasting I was eating pizza in pasta form…

Finally ordered a refill! I desperately needed this ><. My polish was starting to get super goopey!

Crab cake! Yums! Actually….we only ordered this because my sister loves it hahaha once she sees “crab cake” on a menu she almost always ends up getting it. I have a relationship like that too but with mussels in white wine sauce.

Sashimi! Geoduck is soooo good. I remember when I was younger my mom would buy them and slice them herself at home but not they’re so expensive and more worth it to have at ayce sushi places. I didn’t get too much sashimi that day since I just had food poisoning not too long ago.

Father day’s cake, we actually was suppose to be celebrating my mums bday too and she said next time she wants a plaque too LOL

Went back to the tea place for a lychee cupcake and an early grey latte, the cupcake was very yummy!

Duffy’s new outfit! I’ve been stalking this outfit for weeks on the website and was going to order but luckily it came into our store!

I think this was black soy bean drink….I think it tasted like sesame though =S

My hot chocolate which was very creamy and rich =)

Finally tried Menchies! I got more excited at the toppings lol

I think this is the twist- chocolate and vanilla, some of those liquid ball things, mochi, chocolate chips and snickers? It was good, the waffle was free since it was waffle Wednesday. It tasted like cinnamon apple! Even though I didn’t care too much for it I ended up munching on it and ended up eating it -.-
I used to never like these type of nude nails but it’s growing on me recently! I still prefer a more opaque finish but so far so good, I think it looks nice, clean and polished =)

I know I’m going to be super busy at the end of the month again since my paper is due next month but luckily I’ve got some posts lined up =P The weather has been super gorgeous lately and I hope it stays this way for the rest of the summer! Love it!
